The 27th Lancers Corps is a 2nd generation Corps that was established and founded by Jose Viray Jr. in 1979. The 27th Lancers are now being managed by his nephew and former City Councilor Ferdinand Estrella, who is responsible for re-building the Corps. Current members are the sons and relatives of their Alumni and the only Corps in the Philippines who received the "Hall of Fame" award from the Boy Scouts of the Philippines.

Philippines Drum Corps is a whole year activity with 50 active Corps and around 50 Drum & Bugle Corps all over the country. These groups perform in town fiestas, city parades and compete in the once a year competition organized by the Boy Scouts of the Philippines.

Sir Lut Garrido is a Hall of Fame awardee and the best Band Master, Conductor of the Drum and Bugle Corps in the Philippines. His Group the 27th Lancers began to broaden their horizons competing head to head with the nation's best drum corps. They developed a unique style and flowing visual show that held much more for the future. The corps became the Hall of Fame Champion.

Many of the original members were now too old to march, and the corps went through a rebuilding stage, The new 27th Lancers. Many thought that Lancers would not be able to survive this transition. They certainly proved them wrong.

Until now Sir Lut is busy training the new Corps and if you can hear them now, they are progressing very fast. And the corps once again will dominate the entire corps here in the Philippines.

Once again they won the hearts of many Pinoys and remained as the top corps in the Philippines.
